Skagit Speedway promoter Steve Beitler and Silver Dollar Speedway / Golden State Challenge Series promoter Alan Handy are pleased to announce the "1st Annual 2010 Western Speedweek" for the 410 sprint cars!

"This is going to be an awesome week for our fans and racers" commented Beitler, 7 races in 9 days at 5 different race tracks for over $225,000."

"I am excited to be working with Steve and the other promoters on this Speed Week Tour" said 2nd year GSC promoter Alan Handy, "The racers, fans and tracks have been wanting this for a long time".

The Western Speedweek kicks off at beautiful 1/4 mile Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico CA June 11th. "I am working hard to provide quality events to our teams and give our fans and excellent show that's exciting and entertaining" said Handy.

The speedweek continues to head north to Southern Oregon Speedway in Medford OR on June 12th. SOS promoter John Skinner said "I am excited to have this caliber of racing at Southern Oregon Speedway. It is the only time all year we will see the 410 class here and I know the fans will love it."

After a travel day the tour stops at Cottage Grove Speedway June 14th. Former sprint car champion turned promoter Brian Crockett commented "We had a great event last year with the Golden State Challenge Series, adding a couple more tracks and creating a speedweek format this year will attract more cars and more fans."

For the first time in over 20 years the Thunder and Lightning 410 division returns to Willamette Speedway in Lebanon OR June 15th. "It's been a long long time since we had these cars here. Our fans are going to have a real treat with this show. I know we will sell out all the seats, I better be looking for some extras!" remarked Bill Arnold, Willamette Speedway promoter.

The teams and fans head north to the state of Washington and get ready for the 39th running of the Jim Raper Memorial Dirt Cup June 17-18-19. The final leg of speedweek starts Wednesday night June 16th with the 'Fan Appreciation Party' in the Burlington Haggen Food & Pharmacy parking lot. The fun goes from 4-7pm. Come meet your favorite drivers, eat and listen to the band play.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday will mark the 39th running of the Dirt Cup. This year the question is, can a Washington driver keep the Cup home for the 3rd straight year or will it be relinquished to an out of state driver where it was held for so many years? "It's going to be a tough fought race" commented promoter Steve Beitler, "Our local teams have been strong for a long time in the 360 ranks, now there catching up in the 410 ranks. It is fun to watch all of them go at it!"

Beitler concluded with "It is important to me that all the tracks in the NW and on the West Coast work together. This will ensure we have more cars racing and the fans get the best entertainment value for their dollar. There are plans in place already to expand this for the 2011 season and hopefully include Grays Harbor Raceway and possible another track further to the south."
