Skagit Speedway Scores Twice!

Skagit Speedway Promoter Steve Beitler in smiling, not once but twice. He was notified in December he had been selected as one of five finalist for The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame's "Promoter of the Year" award. When January arrived, so did an email informing Beitler he had been voted "Regional Promoter of the Year" by the National Promoters Association (RPM). and is one of eight promoters up for the national title with that organization.



NSCHoF UPDATE 1/14 - Following a tie in the voting, Steve Beitler of Skagit Speedway in the state of Washington and Steve Sinclair of the Interstate Racing Association (IRA) will share the 'Promoter of the Year' honors. Sinclair is a three-time winner of this award, while Beitler will be a first-time recipient for the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame national poll.



"It is an honor to be recognized by both these groups" said Beitler, "To have both in the same year is really awesome."


Beitler was quick to praise the team at Skagit Speedway, "We have a solid group here, from the parking people, the ticket team, the concession crew, the office staff and the officials and support crew, we have a lot of very loyal workers that make this track what it is."


"When you come to the races and see the great race teams and loyal fans that are here every week, you realize what an awesome program we all have" Beitler concluded.


The National Sprint Car hall of Fame voting panel is made up from sports writers and select 410 track operators. The final winner will be announced in mid January. Other finalists are: Ralph Capitani - Knoxville Raceway, Tony Stewart - Eldora Speedway, Justin Loh - Williams Grove Speedway and Steve Sinclair - IRA Series.


The National Promoters Association (RPM) finalists are voted on by promoters from their respective regions. The final vote for Promoter of the Year will be cast by all promoters from across the country and will be announced at the Eastern Promoters Conference in Daytona Beach during the Daytona Speedweek.
