New Event Scheduled for August

Skagit Speedway is excited to announce a new event for 2010, "The ASA All Star Challenge presented by WSIB Motorsports" will debut August 21st. This event will be one of the richest regular event purses in track history.
"We didn't have a special event in August so I decided to do something exciting for our race teams and fans." said track owner Steve Beitler, "The format is unique in the fact that the teams will race three segments so they have to race hard in every race" Beitler concluded.
Skagit Speedway has been an ASA Member track for three years and wanted to put on an event that would be fun and exciting for the racers and the fans. The racers are competing for a larger purse and the fans will see an action packed night of racing.
The event format will lock in the top 10 teams from all four weekly divisions; they will draw for the original starting grid. The balance will race a non qualifiers race with the top two tagging the back of the first segment. The first segment will be 10 laps, then the field is fully inverted and the second segment will be 12 laps. Both races will have finishing and passing points. The total will determine the final segment line up. The high point driver from each division will gather and roll the dice to determine the invert of 0-4-6 or 8. The final segment will be a 20 lap shootout that will pay the Outlaw Hornets $250 to win, the Sportsman Sprints will receive $1,000 to win, the 360 Sprints will earn $2,000 to win and the 410 Sprint winner pockets $2,500 for the victory.
"When Steve approached me about this event I liked the concept" said ASA President Dennis Huth, " Skagit Speedway has been working hard to become one of the top short tracks in the country, I am pleased to be part of this race."
"I have enjoyed working with Skagit Speedway on other events the past few years." commented Laura Hauenstein president of WSIB Motorsports, "I am looking forward to visiting Skagit Speedway and meeting the fans and racers."
The race fans will also have a chance to win some fun prizes that night courtesy of ASA Racing, WSIB Motorsports and Skagit Speedway.
