Mr. Dean Wortham

It is with a heavy heart that I pass along the news that our friend and co-worker Dean Wortham has passed away. "Mr. Dean" has worked at Skagit Speedway for the past 15 years helping out in the office and the will call room and just anywhere we needed him. Mr. Dean was a race fan first, he and his wife Sandy drove up from St George Utah every spring to volunteer at the race track.
Every year when he left he'd say he wasn't sure if he would be back, then like clock work he would call and ask us if we would have him and Sandy back for another season. Mr. Dean was like family to all of us, he adopted Kandy as his other daughter and treated me like a true son.
Mr. Dean knew he was sick and told us in November he wouldn't return this year. His strong faith and conviction prepared him for what he called 'The greatest life you could ever live'... He told me his life on earth was just a test drive for the real adventure... I just wish he had a few more miles with us...
In one of his last emails he asked if I would do a memorial lap for him.. he assured me he would be smiling down and proudly watching over all of us.
We're all going to miss you Mr. Dean, your kindness and friendship will forever be cherished!
Rest in Peace my friend...
Steve
