Bergman Wins Night One of Summer Nationals

Alger, WA - Night one of the 2019 Bob’s Burgers & Brew Summer Nationals belonged to Seth Bergman, who scored the preliminary night feature win in dominant fashion at the 65 year old clay oval. Nick Evans and Adam Holtrop were the winners in the support divisions.

35 Budweiser 360 Sprint Cars were on hand for the first night of action, with the top four finishers in the Friday night feature locked into the top eight redraw for night number two. The main event belonged to Bergman, who led all 25 laps with little challenge en route to victory lane. Jason Solwold was the Triple X Hard Charger, advancing from ninth to second and locking himself in, as did third place Travis Jacobson and fourth place Tony Gualda. Gualda was the fast qualifier. Solwold, Cam Smith, Brock Lemley and Bailey Sucich won the heats, with Eric Fisher and Austen Wheatley winning the split B Mains.

Give Nick Evans a good starting spot, and the Granite Falls, WA veteran is tough to beat. Evans would take the lead from AJ Fugitt on lap five after moving up from his fourth place starting spot, and hold a comfortable lead all the way through lap 25 in taking the checkered flag for the Wicked Energy Gum Focus Midgets. Shane Smith won a spirited battle for second, with Chance Crum taking home third. Smith, Evans and Nik Larson were heat race winners. Thomas Walker won the B Main

In Outlaw Tuner action, Adam Holtrop won his third main event in a row in the division in a rowdy 17 lap affair. After taking the lead from Clint Meins on lap two, Holtrop lost the top spot for a lap when Brian Michelson passed him on the 11th go, only to take it back for good on lap 12. Michelson would battle with Kyle Hanson for second, with Hanson taking the runner up spot for good on lap fifteen. Heat race wins went to Holtrop and Meins.
