Mel Decker Recovery Fund
Race Fans and Race Teams
Mel Decker, Owner/Driver of the #22 Modified was taken to the hospital with a serious condition to both of his legs. He was diagnosed with a blood clot and an aneurysm in his right leg. After a six hour surgery the doctors were able to save his leg and get the blood to start flowing correctly. He will need the same surgery to his left leg as soon as he is stable.
Over the years, Mel has been one of the most generous donators for several causes at Skagit Speedway, from our Champions for Community Food Drive, Bicycle Giveaways, Rookie of the Year sponsor, event sponsor and class sponsor to name a few. Just recently he donated $300 to help some out of town teams afford to tow to Skagit for a race.
All of this out of his own pocket and for the love of our sport.
Mel has also been caring for his former wife and daughter as they both have battled cancer that past couple years.
It is our turn to step up and help Mel!
He will be out of work for an undetermined amount of time…
