GIANT FIREWORKS SHOW - SATURDAY JULY 6 Presented by Les Schwab Tire Center

It's time to light up the sky this Saturday, July 6th, at Skagit Speedway for the Les Schwab Tire Centers Fireworks Show. After Mother Nature rained on our parade last Saturday, June 29th, this weekend, we bring the 360 Sprint Cars, Skagit Aggregates IMCA Modifieds, and the Hornets out to play.
After two weekends off, the 360 Sprint Cars are back for their fourth time this year and the last time before the Bob's Burgers & Brew Summer Nationals on July 26-27. Through the previous three races, Trey Starks has won them all, the Puyallup native has dominated Skagit Speedway behind the wheel of a 360. Starks leads the 360s points title with 372 total points. Cam Smith is next closest at 304 points, and Colby Thornhill sits third with 296 points.

For the fifth time this year, the Skagit Aggregates IMCA Modifieds are back at Skagit Speedway. Their last appearance was Saturday, June 15th (the weekend before Dirt Cup), and Rick Smith got the win. Through those four races, Tyson Blood got the first two wins of the year, James Bundy has one, and Smith has the most recent win. With Blood's two wins, he sits atop the points with 158, Jeff Westergard (who has put together a strong rookie year in the Modifieds) sits second, and Adam Holtrop is in third. Westergard has three top-five finishes and a top-ten through four features despite no race wins.

After getting rained shortened last weekend, the Hornets are back to try it again this weekend. Ian Buck and Wyatt Covert won the two heat races for the Hornets last weekend. The top three points have stayed the same, with Brian Michelson leading the way with Colin Sims and Scott Henry behind. Michelson is still a perfect two-for-two in features contested at Skagit Speedway.
