THORNHILL AND SCHLOTFELDT WIN DUAL 410 FEATURES AT SKAGIT SPEEDWAY

Alger, WA - Skagit Speedway fans were treated to two Karmart 410 Sprint Car main events on Saturday night. Jesse Schlotfeldt won the first feature for his first career 410 win and in main event number two, Colby Thornhill drove from his tenth place starting spot to the win.

Main event one was a conclusion of the June 29th A Main that was cut short by rain. With a 17 lap sprint ahead of him, Jesse Schlotfeldt did everything he needed to do, resuming the race in the lead and never looking backward in going the distance for his first 410 win. Justin Youngquist ran second while Eric Fisher ran third.

Trey Starks set the pace for feature number two and looked to have things well in control until Colby Thornhill completed his march through the field after starting tenth. Colby had a clear lane around the high side of the speedway and caught Trey down low in slower traffic, driving around him for the top spot on lap 18. Starks would get multiple restart opportunities to try and get back by Colby including a green-white-checkered restart at the end but the night belonged to Thornhill in taking his second 410 win of the season. Starks and Cam Smith rounded out the podium. Jason Solwold was fast time. Heat wins went to Schlotfeldt and Starks.

Levi Hillier became the first repeat winner of the year in the Sportsman Sprints. Levi took the lead in traffic from Brody Ferguson on lap 12 and would go unchallenged the rest of the way for his second win. Jesson Jacobson took a wounded racecar to a second place finish while Jayden Whitney was third. All three podium finishers are currently under the age of 18. Ferguson set quick time and won the first heat race, with the two other heats going to Hillier and Steve Parker.

The hot streak continued for Jared Peterson in the NW Focus Midgets. The Inlaws Racing driver now has three wins in a row at Skagit Speedway following his wire to wire run on Saturday night for the victory ahead of Shane Smith and Eric Turner. Turner and Smith were heat race winners, as was Nick Evans.
