STAR WARS NIGHT AT SKAGIT SPEEDWAY: MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Alger, WA – After a jam-packed and exciting opening weekend, the racing action is heating up heading into Night Two. Join us this Saturday, May 3rd, for Star Wars Night – May the Force be with you. The night features the season debut of the 360 Sprint Cars and Hornets. Joining them for their second weekend in a row are the IMCA Modifieds.

Trey Starks cleaned house on opening night, winning the 410 Sprint Car feature with ease, and now sets his sights on defending his 360 Sprint Car Drivers Championship from last year. The Puyallup, WA native won six of the nine features –including a three-race winning streak – that he competed in a season ago. Starks also picked up a $15,000 payday in the 360, winning the Bob's Burgers and Brew Summer Nationals over Dominic Gorden and Jason Solwold.

Starks won the points championship over Jesse Schlotfeldt by 45 points, and Cam Smith finished third. Schlotfeldt had a solid season at Skagit, picking up six top 5s and eight top 10s. Smith finished similarly with four top 5s and seven top 10s. Both drivers competed in 10 features. Levi Hillier is back this year after a strong rookie campaign in 2024 that found him in victory lane with a win once, along with his lone top-5 of the year. He had five total top-10s in 10 feature events. Hillier has already been off to a strong start, picking up two wins: one at Grays Harbor Raceway and one at Cottage Grove Speedway.

The Hornets are making their 2025 Skagit Speedway season debut this Saturday. Brian Michelson picked up the 2024 Hornets Drivers Championship last year after knocking off four wins, six top 5s, and six top 10s in eight features. The driver of the 22x finished ahead of second place, Wyatt Covert, by 63 points. Covert had a nice season, finishing with seven top 5s and seven top 10s in eight A-Mains. 2024 saw him competing most nights for podium finishes and getting close to picking up a win. Colin Sims finished third in driver's points with one win, three top 5s, and five top 10s in eight features.

After dominating a year ago, Jeff Westergard picked up from where he left off on opening night last weekend. The driver of the 66 won the race after starting in the 10th position. Westergard made the pass for the lead on lap 16 of the 25-lap race and never looked back, waltzing away to his first win of the new season. He holds the points lead by one over Adam Holtrop, who finished second on opening night, and by two over James Bundy, who finished third.
