JAMES WINS SURVIVE THE 55 NIGHT #1 - TOPS POINTS

Alger, WA - Bricen James was dominant in the preliminary scoring night of the 2025 Survive the 55 at Skagit Speedway. After collecting top points in heat race action, James won the preliminary A Main and collected $1,000 for his efforts.

Drivers collected points in a twin heat race format, setting up main event lineups for Saturday night’s $10,260. James was top point man on the night with a win in heat 4A and a seventh to second run in heat 4B. The top eight in total points are locked into a redraw for the front four ros on Saturday. In the money only preliminary A Main, James took the lead from Geoff Morris on lap four and was dominant in leaving the field behind him to take the win. Reigning WA State Champion Tyson Blood ran his way to second while Collen Winebarger was third. The top eight for Saturday night are James, Winebarger, Kevin Williamson, Ian Whisler, Blood, Morris, Joey Price and Lawrence O’Connor.

Friday night was the final race of the year for the CGE Garage Midgets and Jonathan Jorgenson took his first feature win of the year. Jorgenson led lap one but lost the lead to Randy Schaaf on lap two. Schaaf led until lap nine when Jorgenson snuck under him to retake the top spot. Alex Peck and Shane Smith would pass Schaaf to take second and third and made up the rest of the podium, making a top three of Jorgenson, Peck and Smith.
