SOLWOLD WIRES THE FIELD AT SKAGIT SPEEDWAY

Alger, WA - Dirt Cup Week is knocking on the door and Jason Solwold is ready after his wire to wire win on Saturday night in the 360 division at Skagit Speedway. Jeff Westergard and Macie Logsdon joined him as main event winners on the night.

Solwold was in a prime position to get his first feature win of the season after a four to one run in the heat race set him up with the pole for the main event. From the drop of teh green flag, he had the Shaylen Raye Motorsports entry on point, easily cutting through slower traffic and showing speed in any lane he chose to drive around Skagit Speedway. Defending track champion Trey Starks closed on him a couple times but Solwold never wavered in leading every lap for the feature win ahead of Starks and Colton Heath. Trey was quick time, while Destry Miller and Tanner Holm were the other heat race winners.

Defending track champion Jeff Westergard showed his strength again on Saturday night with a feature win in the IMCA Modifieds. Ben Gunderson led the first seven laps before Westergard found the right combination to get by Ben on lap eight, completing his ascension from a ninth place starting spot, Westergard went the rest of the way to take the victory ahead of Gunderson and Adam Holtrop. Gunderson and Austin Smith won the heat races.

Macie Logsdon raced to her first Skagit Speedway win in the Sportman Sprints. Alden Ostrom led the first twelve laps before a tangle with slower traffic ended his night and collected second place running Jesson Jacobson, who had to swap out a flat tire. This gave the lead to Macie, who was perfect over the back half of the main event in taking the win.Second place went to Jayden Whitney and third was Peyton Drake. Ostrom set quick time and won his heat race. JAcobson and Drake also collected heat race wins.

63 cars signed in for competition on the night with the final checkered flag flying at 10:40 pm.
